Shiver Carts got its start in March 2008 under unusual circumstances. Its founder had recently lost his job and had a young family to support. After praying for direction, he met a man who sold custom golf carts wholesale. He volunteered alongside him part-time without pay and picked up the fundamentals within weeks. Encouraged to open a retail shop, he set up in a vacant storefront of roughly 300 square feet that held only a few carts. As customers multiplied, the business brought on a mechanic to build custom carts and handle service. It also became a familiar presence at local functions, displaying carts and lending them out to support community events.
Growth came quickly. The company first expanded into a neighboring 6,000-square-foot building. By its third year business had doubled again, so it purchased a customer's building and moved into a 16,000-square-foot facility with two acres of fenced storage on GA Highway 82 in Tifton. A Valdosta location followed three years later.
Today Shiver Carts ranks among the country's largest dealers of new golf carts and is an authorized E-Z-GO dealer. Customers can find new and used carts, rentals, service, parts, and accessories such as windshields, mirrors, lifts, rims, and tires. The team credits its customers, family, staff, and faith for its success and remains committed to honest, exceptional service.
